August 2005 Regencies

Hello, and welcome back! I've been staying indoors to avoide the miserable heat and humidity plaguing us here in the northeast and slowly (very slowly) working my way into the stack of August releases. There are actually a fair number of historicals this month, though, sadly, nothing I've loved yet. But to start the month off, I have the newest Regency releases for you.

Twin Peril (Signet) by Susannah Carleton has the Duke of Fairfax giving in to the inevitable and beginning his search for a suitable bride. But Michael Winslow wants to be loved for more than his position in society, which makes the hunt a little more difficult. Lady Deborah Woodhurst might fit the bill, if her twin sister Diana doesn't trick him first.

The Abducted Bride (Signet) by Dorothy Mack has Amy Cole wishing for a bit of freedom, but when she gets a moment, a stranger kidnaps her, believing she is his wife. Sir Jason Archer has been searching for his wayward wife, and no matter how much Amy protests, she can't convince him that she isn't Desiree.

Lady Whilton's Wedding and an Enchanted Affair (Signet) by Barbara Metzger, is the last of the trio, with two of her previously published stories together in one volume, for readers who may have missed them the first time round. In 'Lady Whilton's Wedding', Daphne Whilton is determined that her uncle's death won't delay her mother's nuptials, but he turns out not to make her life any easier now that he's deceased. And in 'An Enchanted Affair', Lisanne Neville's proposal to marry the Duke of St. Sevrin to save the woods she loves leaves him reeling, but there are few other options left to him.
