Snow White And The Huntsman

The legendary fairy tale of Snow White is transformed in this live action film. Ravenna, the Evil Queen, marries and then slaughters King Magnus, taking over his kingdom and locking his beloved daughter, Snow White, in one of the castles towers for years. But when Ravenna’s magical mirror reveals that the now grown Snow White is the one thing she needs for immortality, the Evil Queen becomes obsessed with taking the maiden’s heart. Snow White, however, has other plans when she escapes the castle and flees to the Dark Forest where she’s tracked by the Huntsman who becomes her ally. Here are some movie mistakes to look for while watching “Snow White and the Huntsman”.

· Snow White escapes the castle. After she pulls herself out of the water, she sees the white horse. The close-up of Snow White shows her dress covers her right shoulder. But when she approaches the horse, both shoulders are now bare. The incident with the bare shoulders happens again when she’s staring down the troll. Both shoulders are covered during the scene. But in the view of the troll leaving with the Huntsman standing with his ax in his hand, Snow White’s left shoulder is bare. When the Huntsman says “I told you to run!”, the close-up of Snow White shows both sleeves are back up covering her shoulders.

· Snow White is on the white horse trying to escape the Queen’s henchmen. They ride through the town and then the woods. Just before they get to the pit, there is a far view of the area followed by an overhead view of the horse and Snow White. It cuts to a left side view of them as the horse starts to neigh and then a quick closer view. In the closer left view, there is a beige/tan blanket that covers the back of the horse that wasn’t there before and is gone afterwards.

· Snow White is kneeling over Gus after he’s been shot with the arrow. There is a small braid that hangs down over the left side of her face in close-ups. But right before he dies, the braid is not dangling in front of her face anymore although her hands never left him to sweep it back!

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Snow White is dead and is wearing the white dress on the funeral pyre inside the church. The first full view of her (from her right side) shows her feet are together. When the Huntsman walks around, her feet are apart. But when he kisses her and walks away, the left side view shows they’re together again. It cuts to a close-up of the Huntsman walking out and her feet are apart again in the background.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! At the very end of the movie during Snow White’s coronation, she looks at the two doors at the far end of the hall. Both doors are closed. But in the final moment of the film, as the camera pans back, the doors shut close before the credits begin to role.

“Snow White and the Huntsman” (2012) stars Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Ian McShane, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones and Nick Frost. It runs 127 minutes and is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, and brief sensuality.
