I purchased five notepads and received one free, the same with the pens. These are specials Richard has at his ebay store often. The bookmarks are sold five in a set. I usually give these to Therapists and Teachers in April. They are really nice and I hate to part with them, which is why I keep buying more. Communication and shipping are fast and efficient with Richard. His daugter is on the Spectrum. He also sells ribbons, bumper stickers (I have many of them) and awareness cards.
I bought last year from another ebay seller some t-shirts for Matthew to wear. Kristin now has a website and accepts paypal for payment of the shirts, bracelets and buttons. I got a blue and red shirt in the Youth size medium. They arrived quick and wrapped with a bow. Her site is www.iloveachildwithautism.com. The shirts are 100% cotton and cost $12 for children, $14 for adults.
While looking around ebay using "autism awareness" as my search term I stumbled upon a garden flag banner for Autism Awareness. I had wanted to find one of these and was not sure what they were called, but here it was for $12.75. The same seller had another listing described as, Autism Awareness Puzzle Piece Photo Magnetic Frames. This was $6.00 so I made the purchase of both items.
Make sure to wait for an invoice when you buy more than one item from the same seller since they offer discounts in shipping rates. I made the error in paying quickly for the two items and noticed today the seller lists discount and sends items priority mail. I should have received a discount and a refund of some sort, but this never materialized.
They arrived in a timely manner but I had no idea where to get a garden flag pole. I would have liked to get some ideas from the seller, but maybe they assume everyone making this purchase has one already. I did a google search which led me to hobbyworks.com, but the shipping charge for this one item was over $20!
Another search brought me to garden-flags.com where I made the purchase the other day. Shipping was only $3.50 with the entire purchase under $20. I looked at the cat flags while at the site since Nicholas is such a cat lover, but nothing looked appealing to warrant the additional expense.
I was not impressed with the photo magnets and saw that it was from a site known as www.iwanit.com They only sell to wholesale dealers so I could not get a price. The frames are still in the package as I am not sure what I will do with them. My refrigerator is filled with Sea World magnets and Leap Frog Phonics Toys.
The garden flag poled arrived quickly and fits the autism awareness banner that goes in the front yard each day. I bring the whole thing inside each night just in case it blows off in the wind or someone tries to take it.
My last ebay purchase is a mousepad that reads I love someone with AUTISM. It cost $9.99 and is being utilized at my house. Matthew loves to stim with mousepads and went for it so fast I almost lost it to him. It arrived in an envelope from Cafe Press.
While browsing around www.CafePress.com I considered getting a clock that says Autism Awareness but decided not to at this time. I will save that purchase for another time.
Currently the ebay seller Stitches4autism is selling Youth I.D. Bracelets that are colorful and say I Have Autism for $5.99. You can find these at Cindy's website at www.stitches4autism.com. Paypal is used for this site also.
I have purchased from many organizations through the years and try to find different things each year. Hopefully everyone will do their part in purchasing items to wear such as shirts and bracelets along with putting a bumper sticker on a car and giving out bookmarks to family and friends. Get some bumper stickers and note cards for therapists, aides and teachers. I already gave the Feeding Therapist during a home visit a button, pen, pad and bookmarks.
