Now that you have your list, write words that rhyme with them. You don’t need to have any idea how you’re going to put it together yet, just see how many words you can come up with.

3 - Create your sentences.
Look over your list and see if some natural sentences present themselves. Write the sentences out without trying to put them into a specific order yet.

4 - Arrange the sentences.
Now that you have a bunch of random sentences, link them together in a way that fits. Switch them around and see what sounds best. On a word processor it’s easy to cut and paste the sentences to achieve the perfect poem.

5 - Have fun with your poem!
It’s ok to get wacky and have some fun with your mother’s day poem. Make mom smile with your creative arrangement and sense of humor.

6 - Avoid perfectionism.
Just like the macaroni necklace you made for her in elementary school, she will cherish your poem because you took the time to make it special for her. She’s not going to grade you on punctuation or look for perfect sentence structure.

7 - Decorate your Poem.
Your mother is going to keep your poem for a long time and show it to everyone she knows, so make the presentation worthy of the time you spent writing it. Chose some nice paper and add whatever embellishments you’d like.
