Jewerly Selling Secrets - Book Review

Jewelry Selling Secrets by Kameron Kay

Reviewing this book fits in nicely with my article from last week. Many of us who collect and make jewelry find ourselves facing this quandary – we love our BLING but find ourselves running out of space for all of them!!

Authors like Kameron fill a much needed niche tutoring new entrepreneurs on the fine points of being a success in the jewelry sales market.

Jewelry Selling Secrets by Kameron Kay is a great resource for those beginning a jewelry selling journey. Here is a sampling from the table of contents:

Why I Wrote This Book...
How to Get Started Legally
What Price Is Right?
Jewelry Orders and Inventory Tracking Methods
Photographing Jewelry
Creating a Website
Placing Orders / Consignment
Advertising and PR
Press Releases - Grassroots
Create a Mailing List
Celebrities Add Value
Trend Spotting
Jewelry Forums

Kameron gets you thinking about all of those important factors before jumping into selling. She has integrated hotlinks appropriately to allow you to find more information quickly and accurately. Logically laid out, it is an easy read with great photos and interesting quotes.

There is a rather large section dedicated to Gemstones and their meanings and jewelry supplies that I found to be a bit outside the focus of the book, although it is good information, it is off from the primary scope on selling jewelry.

Kameron touches upon selling face to face in addition to on line selling. These different venues require different approaches to becoming successful. In addition to the ebook, Kameron has added extra information in the form of an added document on sourcing supplies and a video package to support the book.

Overall, I would recommend this ebook for those persons getting started in the world of selling their jewelry collections and hand made pieces. There are many useful tips contained throughout the book and in the additional materials she provides.
