Happy Mother's Day -- LOVE, Pay It Forward

Happy Mother's Day - hopefully, extending to Mother's Week - to all you Mothers out there!

I am finally able to count myself among the Grandmothers of the world. There is nothing more joyous than being a grandmother, as all you Grandparents out there already know. You get to relive special moments all over again when your 'child' has their own child. It is truly heartwarming to see the love that goes around - bonding with your grandbaby; also, it gives you the added bonus of bonding with your own (adult) child all over again. You reap such rewards! There is nothing more gratifying and rewarding than this - it's better than winning the lottery and a store full of chocolate - combined!

Each day that I wake up, I cannot wait to see my new grandbaby and kiss him all over again. Yes, I have a grandson - a grandson who is the cat's pajamas, the bees' knees, the sunshine of my life. His mother - my daughter - is such a wonderful Mom - and it's a joy to see the interaction between her and her son - my grandson.

Ahh, my grandson - my gorgeous, breathtaking, cuddly, loveable, kissable, engaging grandson....

I know a lot of my readers are Grandmothers - and Grandfathers, so you know what I'm talking about. I have the added bonus of living only minutes away from my daughter and new grandbaby. I wanted to ensure that I would not be a stranger to my grandchild (hopefully grandchildren) - so I relocated to the state my daughter lives in, so I could be a 'hands on' Grandmother. I was never close to either of my Grandmothers -- that was something I missed out on all my life - so I was even more determined not to deprive my grandchild or myself of that bond, that special relationship which, I believe, is so crucial and important for a child to have and grow up with. We can teach our grandchildren so much - things they cannot learn in school; knowledge which has taken us a lifetime to glean.

The more love that goes around, the more good karma the child will have in his (or her) later years. This was told to me by a top celebrity psychic who counts many well known and age old celebrities among her list of clientele. We have become friends over the past months - and I sent her a picture of my grandson - she told me he was 'exceedingly spiritual'. She told me that for every day that I spend with my new grandbaby now, that will bring him good karma for each year of his life. It's kind of like a 'love' bank that accrues escrow. Now, that's what I call a bank account. It's love compounded and reaping dividends far into the future for my grandchild - for your grandchild - impacting all who contribute in this circle of love.

My friends have been telling me for years - 'wait until you become a grandma' - and I knew it would be wonderful, and I have been eagerly anticipating it for a long time - now it's finally happened. I told my daughter I only wished she'd had twins so that each of the grandparents wouldn't be jockeying for time with the baby. If that's the only downsided of being a grandparent, I'll gladly accept it.

Here's hoping all of you Grandmothers and Grandfathers reading this are able to be with your (adult) children and grandchild/grandchildren on this Mother's Day.

Don't worry, Dads, your time is coming!
