How To Have Perfect Skin

Many young people experience changes when they least expect them to occur. It seems that, sometimes, teens can hardly ever catch a break. A change that many teens are all too familiar with is the change that occurs when their bodies are going through puberty. A product of this change is acne.

There are quite a few companies nowadays that promise teens that their product is the only way to beat acne for good. But don’t worry! Though many teens quiver and shake at the thought of a pimple that will lead to a less-than-perfect complexion, it’s really nothing to worry about.

It’s all about knowing what creates acne and how to take care of your skin in order to prevent permanent marks and other unhealthy sights on your face and other parts of your body.

One thing you must know about acne is that it is not contagious. You cannot pickup acne from a friend like a disease.

There are many primary causes of acne. These causes include skin and hair products, medications, hormones, genetics, and even stress. According to the site MedicineNet, pimples result when oil glands in your skin secrete too much sebum, a natural moisturizer you start producing in puberty.

When your pores become clogged with excessive amounts of sebum and skin cells, it fosters the growth of the infection-causing bacterium P. Pimples, nodules, and cysts form as your immune system attacks the infection.

In girls, fluctuations in female hormones associated with puberty, menstruation, and pregnancy often cause breakouts. Very oily sunscreens, lotions, and other products are also contributors to the appearance of blemishes.

A healthy diet is also essential to healthy skin. Eating fruits and vegetables is a must.

Though there are many factors that cause acne and other forms of a breakout to occur, there are ways to prevent them.

Proper skincare is a must.

In order to prevent and control breakouts, many dermatologists recommend practicing gentle face-washing techniques. Personally, I wash my face twice a day (in the morning and in the evening before I go to bed).

You should use a mild soap or facial cleanser and rinse thoroughly with water afterward. Also, be sure to wash your face after exercising to prevent your pores from clogging, but be sure not to wash too vigorously. A hard scrub can leave your skin feeling irritated and can even worsen acne.

Another technique dermatologists recommend is protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful rays by applying a lotion that has an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of at least 15 every day.

Whether it’s sunny or cloudy, wearing a lotion that has and SPF factor is an excellent and surefire way to prevent acne and the appearance of sun spots.

In conclusion, proper skin care is a must for every teen. It is very simple to do and the rewards of a healthy and glowing complexion are very gratifying.
