Computer Careers - Why Now's The Best Time

Are you a computer professional? Considering the prospect? Here are the top 4 reasons why now is the best time for a computer based career.

1. Fun - When it comes to making career choices or work related changes, fun is the first factor in my book. We spend more time at work than anywhere else so it's important that we enjoy what we do. So what makes computer careers so much fun? Well, the fact that working on computers is so enjoyable for some reason! If you find that time goes quickly when you're reading or writing emails, shopping on eBay, chatting with virtual friends on social networking sites like LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube or even the BellaOnline Forum, then a career in computers could just be perfect for you.

2. Flexibility - In today's fast-paced world, people are starting to give more thought to careers that allow them make the most of life. If you're a mother to young children for instance, you may want to work from home on a full or part time basis in order to fit work around your family commitments (rather than the other way round). The good news is that computer careers are the most flexible careers at the moment! What other career gives you the opportunity to work with clients from across the world and earn money around the clock? If you're willing to learn how to set up a professional looking website and network online, the sky's not the limit to what you can achieve by leveraging your expertise.

3. Versatility - There's definitely something for everyone in the computer career world. Graphic design and copy writing are ideal for the creative minded. Programming and project management for the more analytical. Sales and consulting for social butterflies. Whatever your personality or passion is, there's a computer career that's just right for you.

4. Profitability - Unfortunately for the technologically challenged, computers aren't going away. Some claim that the IT industry is a $2.5 trillion global industry. The website of the ITAA (Information Technology Association of America), even suggests that the internet now makes up part of the nation's core infrastructure. For instance, do you think that corporations would like to revert to total reliance on the postal system when emails are so much cheaper and faster than traditional post? I don't think so. Despite negative influences such as spam and pornography, as well as uncertainty over the Internet's existence in its present form, more and more people are embracing computer technology in their career and everyday lives.

If you're bored with your current career, don't give up altogether. Just step back for a while and explore all the exciting options available to you in the computer career world.
