Another Win for Tiger!

I may be obsessed with Tiger with so many of my articles written about him and his winning ways at golf and his determination to be the best. He is an amazing golfer to watch with shots that seem to be made by superman but then I guess he is the next thing to being superman. In my newspaper this morning I had to smile at the opening paragraph – “Good news for the rest of golf: Tiger Woods is going on vacation.” A well deserved vacation it should be. The picture that accompanied the article show a smiling red shirted Tiger with the beautiful blue trophy earned from the PGA victory in the American Express Championship at The Grove golf course in England.

This made Tigers sixth victory on the PGA tour where he went wire to wire in all kinds of weather including the two delays because of rain in Sunday’s final round. Starting with the British Open in July he waltzed through these wins and ended up this final win with an eight shot lead over Adam Scott. Tiger had such control of his game as he missed only 12 fairways and hit 36 consecutive greens in regulation all week.

Not only the birdies he accumulated but the eagles flew often especially on the final 567 yard closing hole. Here is where he eagled three times but failed with a chip shot from off the green on his final round on Sunday. It was a fun week he remarked during an interview, saying “Its fun when you can control your golf ball that well.” Yes Tiger it is also shows how hard you have worked on your game to control each and every shot.

Now the talk is if he can reach other remarkable golfers such as Byron Nelson who had eleven consecutive victories. This helped him pass such golfers as Ben Hogan, Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer with total victories in one year. The TV announcers are always putting this up on the screen to check his progress in winnings. These announcers are just as amazed as everyone at his ability to win Stroke play tournaments. They always have to remark about his losing record in the Ryder Cup to bring balance to their reporting. All I can say he is a great show to watch and gives golf a great boost in people who take up the game.
