Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday

Pink Friday, the debut album by singer-songwriter and rapper Nicki Minaj, is set to be released and so is Minaj. Whether you have heard this name or not, one thing is clear - you will. This tornado is poised and ready to wreak havoc on the music charts.

While her first album, with singles already released, will provide one way for fans to get to hear her music, Minaj has been establishing herself with performances with other artists. In fact, anyone looking to set themselves up for success could not do better than the musicians she can list as having performed with. The many voices of Nicki Minaj have a varied assortment of accompanying voices on songs already out there.

"Check it Out," with the brilliant will.i.am, a song with mixes, lyrics and edgy polish that highlight the talents of both artists. Slapping beats that will kick you to the dance floor and make you want to check her out. Nicki is a virginal artist who is about to be released to the world with experience.

"Roman's Revenge" with the iconic Eminem featuring innovative sounds that may actually take a moment to get used to, but once you are dialed in - probably after Eminem's first verse - you will find yourself wanting more. Also on the album you can hear Rihanna in Fly," Kanye West in "Blazin'" and Natasha Bedingfield in "Last Chance."

"Your Love" and "Right Thru Me" are singles that have already been released from Pink Friday, and both do an explosive job of presenting Nicki to the world as a solo force to be reckoned with even if she is relatively new on the music scene. She has also been touring to promote the album.

Other songs that she can be found on include her non-album single "Massive Attack" featuring Sean Garrett, as well as a slew of releases she has been featured on, including "Up Out My Face" with Mariah Carey, "My Chick Bad" with Ludacris, "Lil Freak" with Usher, "Woohoo" with Christina Aguilera, and "Up All Night" with Drake. There are more, so for a new artist there are plenty of places to find Minaj.

While she has the public relations dream team and is acquiring the credentials of a veteran performer, it would be inspiring to see more substance with the glam. By developing her songwriting skills she could increase the exposure she will receive and become an even bigger threat.

Is a Grammy around the corner? There may be and that award will have to share shelf space with a 2008 Underground Music award for Female Artist of the Year, a host of BET awards, a Teen Choice award, and a MTV Video Music award.

Expect Minaj to be in your face as she is not only set for success, but she clearly plans to be around for the long haul too.
