Alicante’s Costa Blanca coastline is a beach lover’s paradise. In 2006 86 of Alicante’s beaches were denoted Blue Flag (http://www.blueflag.org) indicating
that Alicante provided sustainable development through strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management and safety.

Torre de la Horadada to Torrevieja

El Mojón – A 200m golden sandy beach backed by fields and located in El Mojón
south of the main beaches of La Torre. This beach is a little more secluded than the more popular beaches of La Torre but doesn’t have toilets.

Playa Jesuítas – A fine, sandy, urban beach situated off the N-332 in La Torre,
near the Sierra de Escalona and natural park of las Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar. The beach has all the usual amenities such as sun lounger rental,
parasols, lifeguards and toilets. This beach is just over 400 metres long and gets very busy in the summer months.

Calas de Rocamar –The 269m of coves,just north of La Torre are quite difficult to access - even on foot, but do offer a secluded hideaway, with golden sand, for those seeking an escape from the crowds.

Vista Mar – A 300m strip of golden sandy, and generally isolated, beach located on the popular Cañada Hermosa (Beautiful Gorge), midway between La Torre to the
south and Cabo Roig to the north. This beach, which can be reached from the
N-332 has all amenities including toilets, showers,lifeguards and sun lounger rental.

La Caleta (Cabo Roig) – Almost 400m of golden sandy, blue flag beach situated on
the point of Cabo Roig. In addition to lifeguards, showers, toilets and sun lounger hire, there is asailing club and sports port just 15 minutes away.

Cala del Bosque (La Zenia) – This 258m blue flag beach on the popular La Zenia
strip is neighbour to Cala Cerrada further north(which doesn’t have blue flag status). Situated on the Orihuela coast in La Zenia it has lifeguards, showers, toilets and sun lounger hire.

Playa Flamenca – This 172m blue flag cove has fine sand and calm waters.
Located on the Orihuela coast off the N-332 it has all amenities, including lifeguards, in main season.

Punta Prima – This 234m sem-urban blue flag beach has fine sand and calm waters. Punta Prima is the northernmost beach of the Orihuela coast jutting
into the Mediterranean sea. It has all the usual amenities such as showers,
toilets, sun lounger rental and lifeguards.

Los Náufragos (Torrevieja) – This 400m blue flag beach is situated on the west of Torrevieja’s port. Its mixture of fine sand (with a rocky part in the south), calm waters and location next to Marina Internacional makes this a favourite location for fishing and watersports. Los Náufragos (The Shipwrecks) has lifeguards, sun lounger rental, snack bars, toilets and showers.
