It’s just six hours before the biggest soccer game of the year and the team hasn’t even chosen a mascot.

One of the girls suggest “the butterflies” for their team name, but no one else wants that as they think it sounds too soft and not a bit scary. Then another suggests the name “the bog beasts”.

“Does anyone really know what a bog beast looks like?”

Ms. Frizzle shows up in a butterfly costume and they all set off in the magic school bus – it turns into a swamp boat and they go skimming across the top of the swamp water- she takes them to the butterfly bog. It becomes a big adventure while the kids try to find a new name for their soccer team – at first glance a zebra butterfly and a buckeye butterfly look a bit like a bog beast.

But now the possibility of naming their team the Washington Elementary Butterflies doesn’t seem quite so ridiculous as the school bus becomes a Magic School Busserfly and they fly home.

Looks can be deceiving and butterflies are exciting and interesting!
