Chocolate Gift Tower

Chocolate gift towers are the perfect gift for Mother’s Day or any other celebration. They are surprisingly easy to put together. Typically, the towers sold from the big online chocolate shops consist of three containers of different chocolates. The towers I have prepared have 3 of my favorite chocolate candy. The first box has S’mores bark. The second box has chocolate covered pretzels. The third and final box has chocolates filled with caramel. You will need three boxes to form the towers and ribbon to tie them together.

S’mores Bark Recipe:

Ingredients:

1 bag of milk chocolate candy melts
1 cup of miniature marshmallows
2 sheets of graham crackers, broken into small pieces

Directions:

1. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
2. Melt the chocolate over a double boiler.
3. Once the chocolate is melted stir in half of the marshmallows and half of the graham crackers.
4. Spread the mixture on the wax paper.
5. Sprinkle the remaining marshmallow and graham crackers over the chocolate.
6. Freeze for 10-15 minutes or until firm.
7. Break into medium to large pieces.

Chocolate Dipped Pretzel Recipe:

Ingredients:

9 oz. bag of small pretzels
12 oz. bag of white chocolate candy melts
Optional for topping: milk or dark chocolate, sprinkles, or crushed nuts

Directions:

1. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
2. Melt the white chocolate over a double boiler.
3. Dip the pretzels one at a time and place on the wax paper.
4. The decoration part is optional. Sprinkles or crushed nuts can be sprinkled on the pretzels before the chocolate has been hardened. Drizzling milk or dark chocolate is also an option.
5. Freeze for 10 minutes.

Chocolate Covered Caramel Recipe

Ingredients:

14 oz. dark chocolate candy melts
25 wrapped caramels
2 tbsp. evaporated milk
Chocolate candy mold

Directions:

1. Melt the caramel and milk in a small sauce pan over low heat, stirring constantly.
2. Melt chocolate over a double boiler.
3. Fill the mold a little less than half way with chocolate.
4. Spoon caramel into the mold.
5. Cover the caramel with chocolate, until reaching the top of the mold.
6. Freeze for 10-12 minutes.

Once all the candy is made, it is time to assemble your chocolate tower. The bottom and largest box is for the S’mores bark. The second and middle box contains the pretzels and the top box holds the chocolate covered caramels. Candy boxes can be found online or in craft stores. I tied the boxes with a ribbon and attached a flower.

Happy Mother's Day!
