Ocean to Ocean Bridge Yuma Arizona

Needed something to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon, so we took a ride down to the Ocean to Ocean bridge in Yuma. The traffic is low as it is almost summer, and the tourists are looking for cooler climates.

Traveling on Interstate 8 from Phoenix to San Diego, you must cross the Colorado River. Because your on the Interstate you will miss the view of the river and this beautiful old bridge.

The good view is from down below or on the California side at Indian Hill. While climbing around looking for a photo opportunity, we stumbled across these old foundations. Have not identified yet.

This is the view from River-Front park, where you can relax and swim. The locals have called this Yuma beach for years. We used to joke that when California fell into the ocean after an earthquake, then we would all be living on ocean front property. Earthquakes are not a laughing matter, but we love our water around here.

The view at night is really special. The lights of the old Ocean to Ocean Highway Sign are lit at sundown every evening.

When your driving across the desert Southwest, this is a refreshing spot to have a picnic and hang out with the squirrels.
