Life Coaching Contemplations for Moms

Making ordinary moments extraordinary is a skill that adds meaning to life. Mothering is a role that is – both – mundane and complex at the same time. Bringing mindfulness and intention into mothering will bring a boost to any simple or challenging task. Below are five questions to help you nurture your soul and make every moment an important one:

If you were given $10,000, what would you do with it?
Would you approach it practically and pay off debt? Would you dream with it and treat yourself to a gift you would never have bought for yourself? Would your gratitude extend to others and would you donate or share the money? How would $10,000 change your life?

What makes your heart beat faster?
We were all placed in this world for a specific purpose. What is the passion you have not yet pursued? If barriers of motherhood, finances, energy, and time were removed – what is that you would do? Sit in a silent space with yourself and pay attention to the answers in your heart.

If you have the power to fix something in the world, what would it be?
Would you bring about a cure for a terminal or life threatening illness? Would you ensure that our Earth would be here for years and years to come? Would you make sure all children had food, shelter, and love? What worldly issue resides in the core of your soul?

If you could be anything you wanted to be, who would you be?
What did you want to be when you grew up? Does the answer still delight you and give you shivers of excitement? If there were no barriers, what would you devote your life to?

Who are you?
Tell the story of your life’s journey. Say it aloud. Write it down. Where are you and how did you get here? What did you overcome along the way? What were the highs of your journey so far? What makes you unique? What special talents do you call your own?

Moms – of all people – should make room for contemplation and introspection. It is easy to get caught up in the daily to-do’s of our lives and to lose touch with the essence of our Self. Setting aside time for mindful reflection keeps us in touch with our inner spirit and even helps it penetrate through to our everyday activities.
