Embossing This first technique is elegant yet simple. You take a clear embossing pad, such as a VersaMark pad and stamp your images randomly over the card. Don't be afraid to overstamp the card, this helps make it have a random look. Then take a kaleidoscope or other light color glitter embossing powder and coat all the stamped images completely. Keeping your heat gun moving constantly, melt the embossing powder, being very careful not to get it too close. Glitter will burn away very quickly.
Embossing as Resist This next method is a simply a variation on the first. After you emboss your card (This works especially well with clear embossing powder) take a makeup sponge and dab several times onto a dye ink pad. Using a circular motion with the sponge, cover the entire card with the ink, re-inking your sponge as needed. Don't be afraid to go over the images as the ink is what will make them really stand out.
Simple Stamp with Embellishments For this next card, I simply stamped the large snowflake and the wording on glossy cardstock with chalk ink. After I adhered the images to the card, I embellished with brads and rhinestones. - Ok, so I went a little crazy on the bling so far, they look wonderful.
Color Block
This takes a little more time, but the results are great. First, stamp the images on the first color with a pigment ink and emboss with a similar color embossing powder if you wish. If you like the look of the plain pigment, leave it for a while to dry, then cut apart the pieces. Adhere them to the card and embellish remaining spaces with brads, jewels, etc.
Torn Paper Tear a piece of scrap paper and set it over your blank card. Then, using a light color dye ink and a makeup sponge color over the torn edge of the scrap paper and onto the card. When you have the effect you like stamp your images using any type ink you like over the scrap and card. When finished remove the scrap paper and finish off the card as you like.
Depending on the stamp set you choose you can use chalks, watercolor pencils, markers or whatever you like to color in and/or around the images. You could go on forever or as long as your imagination holds out.
