Pureed Cranberry Sauce

Make your own pureed cranberry sauce from fresh cranberries. After you've tasted your own homemade cranberry sauce, you'll never want to serve canned cranberry sauce again. The recipe is super easy to prepare and the taste is incredible!

  • 2 pounds fresh cranberries
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water

Preparation -
Place the cranberries in a colander and rinse thoroughly under cool running water. Remove any stems, soft or shriveled berries. Mix the cranberries, sugar and water together in a large saucepan. Heat to boiling over medium high heat, while stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and cook for about 5 minutes or until the cranberries have softened and split open, while stirring frequently. Cool the mixture, then pour into the bowl of a food processor and puree. You can alternately push the cooked mixture through a strainer or process in a food mill to puree. Chill for a few hours before serving.
