Save Money on Hair Care

When times are tough and money is tight, we find ourselves trying to save money where ever we can. Sometimes we have to look to our hair care products to cut back. Fortunately there are ways to save money without sacrificing the condition or the appearance of your hair.

Shampoo and Conditioner
Professional shampoo is almost always of better quality than “store bought” shampoo and conditioner. Professional shampoo and conditioners may, at first, seem more expensive for similar sized bottles of less expensive shampoo but they are also more concentrated.
If your hair is strong and you do not chemically enhance it, such as with hair color or permanent waves or relaxers, or mechanically, such as flat irons, you can get satisfactory results from less expensive products. Everything that you do to your hair, chemically or mechanically can damage the structure of your hair. The more you damage your hair the more important it is to use high quality products.

When using conditioner, pour a small amount in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together to distribute it and then run your hands through towel blotted hair.
Styling Mousse, Styling Gel, Hair Spray, etc
Making your styling products go farther is more difficult. I do not suggest diluting them and using lesser quality products may result in residue build-up and dull hair.
Larger Quantities
Professional products are often on sale at much more reasonable prices when they are liter or gallon sizes. When purchasing larger sized products, transfer the contents to smaller containers for ease of use or purchase a pump dispenser
.
Take a day off
Save on product by not styling your hair every day. On weekends or your day off, don’t shampoo or if you must, don’t use styling products. Use head bands or pony tails to control your hair.
