Recently, I heard the incomparable Victoria Rowell on the radio. She is truly a woman wearing many hats. Here is some of what she had to share with the audience.
Rowell has been very busy with the release of her book.
She is a strong advocate for adoption and building healthy families. Victoria was adopted herself, and raised by a loving family. Her adopted mother encouraged her to find her biological mother. Victoria did connect with her natural mother, and made peace with her Mother’s decision. Victoria now has a good relationship with both of her “moms”.
Victoria indicated in her interview that she had many “Moms”: her Ballet Teacher, her School Teachers, and many more that were positive influences. Victoria recently attended National Adoption Day. This event is significant in the world of adoption, because a record amount of adoptions take place: for 2008, 4,500 adoptions occurred in one day.
Victoria has a book she is working on called Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva, which will release in 2010. Victoria portrays such a colorful character (Drucilla), I anticipate her book to be an interesting read.
