If you’ve ever had a thought pop into your head moments before a friend said those exact same words or had your cell phone ring minutes after thinking of a person or wanting them to call, you’ve experienced random psychic energy.

Many of our experiences, unless you are looking for them, will go unnoticed, but the truth is, psychic abilities are meant to help us and work for us every single day.

There are four basic psychic families, Clairvoyance, Clairsentience, Clairgustance and Clairaudience. Usually, when psychic information comes through we will use more than one of these families although there will usually be a distinction in our strongest gift.

Clairvoyance, simply put, is what I like to refer to as “clear seeing.” It is the ability to see or have visions of events, deceased relatives, earth bound spirits or imprinted energy - energy left behind by marked history. You can experience these visions during the day or at night while you sleep and usually won’t last for very long.

If you’ve ever considered yourself, “sensitive” or being able to empathize with someone, this would be Clairsentience. However, Clairsentience goes beyond being able to understand a person’s predicament, joy or illness. A Clairsentient will literally feel someone else’s pain or euphoria and will often need to shield themselves from taxing individuals for risk of feeling road-sided and exhausted themselves.

Clairgustance is the ability to retrieve information through scent. An example might be, you’re in a household that doesn’t smoke yet find a hint of a cigar or cigarette - possibly, even the brand of pipe tobacco of someone you once knew. Upon further investigation you find there is neither a source in or outside the home responsible. There may also be incidences where you are thinking of a question and a smell out of nowhere triggers the solution you were looking for.

Finally, the family Clairaudience, the gift that enables you to hear information. What's confusing is that a great deal of this information can sound like thoughts of our own. Other times, you may hear actual voices of a child, a man or woman that is unfamiliar to you.

By understanding the basics of that "voice" that's always right, it's easier to know, the next time around, how to listen to it more seriously.
