I have the last of the May romances to share with you today before we dive into the June books (of which I have quite the stack). Robin Kaye is back with her second book, Too Hot to Handle (Sourcebooks). Annabelle Ronaldi wakes up the morning after her sister's wedding to a very familiar face in her bed, a face that belongs to a man she doesn't know. Dr. Mike Flynn thinks he's found his dream woman. Too bad he doesn't know she sees her late fiance in his face. It doesn't take him long, however, to figure out Annabelle has some issues, including never wanting to be so seriously involved with a man ever again. But Mike is persistent, and Annabelle can't possibly resist him, right? Sure, she can, though she can't seem to keep her hands off the sexy doctor. Her mother couldn't be more thrilled that Annabelle's found herself a doctor, but even with family meddling (and there's plenty of it, from both sides), she still won't give in to Mike or to her own emotions. Even when things look like they might work out, that Annabelle's heart might win out over her head, another monkeywrench gets tossed into the works, and this time, neither can see a way to work it out. This one's filled with sexy interludes, as well as a terrific hero. I didn't like Annabelle nearly as much, however, and their nosy families turned me off as well. I realize some people's families are like that, but it doesn't make me want to have one of them. I also couldn't quite buy into the turnaround Mike makes at the end, so this one isn't a keeper for me. It's earned only three of Cupid's five arrows.
Until next time, happy reading!
