Thea Devine is Back!

Hello, and welcome back! It's hot and sticky here, still. I'm really hoping this isn't an early start to a long and miserable summer. Otherwise, our air conditioning unit is going to get a serious workout this year. We haven't started it up yet, hoping that this is just a couple of days, but it doesn't soon cool down, we'll have to think about it. That'll be too bad, as I love spring, and being able to open the windows to let the breeze into the house and to sit outside with my book or writing. Maybe a plea to Mother Nature is in order.

This time out, I have a book that'll heat things up wherever you are, the latest from Thea Devine, Sex, Lies & Secret Lives (Gallery, received from publisher). I adore Thea Devine, and it's always too long between books from her. This one has Justine Durant getting a message from Jillian, her twin sister, in the wee hours of the morning that has her heading to her sister's in time to find out she's gone missing. So Justine slips into her sister's life and discovers her sister has been keeping a lot of secrets from her. Justine believed her sister was a model, traveling the world, but it turns out Jillian is really working for an escort service that caters to the richest men in the world, and Justine is certain that one of them knows what's happened to her sister. But her investigation as Jillian brings her no real answers, just a lot of no-strings sex, so she decides to be herself and find those answers instead, which puts her on a collision course with Doug Rawls, another man her sister knew, and one who is extremely dangerous. And sexy as hell. Still, even with Rawls tempting her into bed every chance he gets, she's desperate to find her sister, to be sure she's safe, and Rawls can only be temporary. After all, his world and her own would never have coincided without her sister's influence. But once she's had him, how can she let him go? I know whenever I pick up a book by Thea Devine that I'm guaranteed a read that will singe my fingers on the pages, and this one lives up to that exceedingly well. Rawls is dangerous, in and out of bed, and what woman can resist a sexy bad boy? This one's earned four of Cupid's five arrows. I do hope, though, that Ms. Devine gets her wish to write another historical romance soon. I miss those.

Until next time, happy reading!
