Mill Creek Damaged Green

Over this past weekend Mill Creek Golf Course was hit again with damage to a green. The green where I live called the Heart of Texas was damaged with spray paint. It was the weekend before school started and that seems to be a time the golf course gets hit. It also happens at the end of school year in the spring as well. In the past we have had our granite markers knocked over and broken. Some were tipped over again this past spring. They were not repaired and left all summer to just stand up against the base. Maybe that is why they decided to just spray paint the green as tipping over the markers seems to have lost their interest.

The damage to the golf course has been costly to the club. One wonders where the parents are that they do not know what their children are doing. This type of damage is a destructive and if caught could be made to pay for the damages. This weekend they sprayed painted obnoxious markings on the green of the Heart of Texas golf hole where I live. Gary the Greens Superintendent has been trying to repair the damages before I took these pictures.

The spray paint they used could kill the grass but that is the least of their thinking. It is a long standing joke to cause some damage to the Golf course before school starts and when the year is over. There must be some group in school that this carries over each year to see just who can do the most damage to the golf course. I have complained about this and even wrote about it in our Mill Creek Community Association newsletter. Well that brought out a group of people who thought I was blaming some of our former members who were upset with the club.

It seems no one cares about stopping it as it is just kids and their pranks. They say this always happens at night and there is no one to supervise the whole course in the middle of the night. Since our MCCA residents total 676 homes but very few are Mill Creek Golf Members. This means there are many families with children that live on or near the golf course. Since this damage continues every year it seems there is no solution we just have to wait each year to see what damage comes the next time. I suppose it is a small thing to some people but to the owner of this golf course it is costly. The Heart of Texas Green is the signature hole by designer Robert Trent Jones Jr.
