Last Dragon Standing

Hello, and welcome back! It is finally gorgeous here, and we’ve been able to open up the house again to let the cooler air in. I am so happy I can sit outside now with my books and my writing. Not to mention to do the weed-pulling in the herb beds that was neglected while it was so hot and miserable much of the summer. So far, autumn is looking much, much better than our summer.

This time out, I have the latest from G. A. Aiken, aka Shelly Laurenston, href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000000032640366pubid=21000000000050215">Last Dragon Standing (Zebra, purchased). Princess Keita, aka Keita the Viper, was taken prisoner two years ago by Ragnar and his family in hopes of creating an alliance with her family. Now, she’s got more pressing issues, and when her path crosses Ragnar’s again, he’s got a score to settle with her for their last encounter. If only they can resist the heated attraction that flares whenever they’re near. Of course, they’ll have to deal with a whole lot of other troubles along the way to their happy ending, and those troubles will give readers the opportunity to revisit characters from previous tales in this very entertaining shapeshifting dragon series during battles and family visits. With Aiken’s trademark humor and searing sexual tension, this one is a fine addition to the series, though it’s not my favorite of the bunch. Ragnar feels considerably more mature than Keita, who occasionally behaves like a spoiled child. But Ragnar is seriously hot, and this one will keep fans of the series turning pages until that happy ending is reached. I still wanted more of Ragnar when I got to the end, but now I suppose we’ll have to wait until fall of next year to get our dragon fix again. I’m borrowing three and a half of Cupid’s five arrows for this one.

If you haven’t stopped by the forum lately, you’re missing out on all of the non-review books that I post mentions of there on a regular basis. You’re also missing out on the monthly ARC giveaways I do there, and I haven’t yet done our September giveaway. Registration is required for participation in the discussions and giveaways, but I promise, it’s free and fast. I hope we’ll see you there.

Until next time, happy reading!
