How to Celebrate Your Birthday, Freebie Style!

How to Celebrate Your Birthday, Freebie Style!

In addition to the joy of celebrating your birthday every year, wouldn't it be great to open your email and find awesome offers for free and discounted meals and goodies? They are simple to obtain, usually requiring an email sign-up that authorizes companies to promote their products and services to you year round. Some companies even allow you to sign up your children to help celebrate their birthdays!

While some companies require a minimum purchase with their birthday offer, others provide true freebies with the mere presentation of the printed coupon. Be prepared to show your I.D. in case they ask. Restrictions often apply, such as weekday use only.

Be sure to check expiration dates and other requirements to ensure you take full advantage of your birthday treats. Note whether it expires on your actual birthday or gives you a grace period as long as 7 days(or more) beyond.

Below are some of the freebies filling my inbox this year:
1) Starbucks: Sign up on their site to receive a free drink of your choice every year.

2) Benihana: In my city, this Japanese restaurant sends a gift certificate worth $30 for use Monday through Thursday to help celebrate your birthday. I’ve used it in the past and gotten the star treatment!

3) Coldstone Creamery: Celebrate the yumminess of their many customizable creations through a well-timed coupon that lets you snag 2 ice cream treats for the price of one.

4) IHOP: Join their Pancake Revolution with the offer of a free Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity breakfast at no cost. You also have the option of getting a menu item with the same or less value as the Rooty Tooty.

5) Krispy Kreme: This undeniably delicious chain offers both a donut and a small drink to add a little extra sweetness to your day. This is a new addition to my birthday freebie list that I'm looking forward to trying.

6) Maggianos Little Italy: This chain lets you enjoy $10 off a $30 purchase in honor of the day you were born.

7) Dunkin Donuts: Nab a coupon for a free medium drink with email sign-up.

8) Zaxbys: From them, I received a coupon for a free Meal Deal that expired long after my birthday!

This list is by no means comprehensive. A Google search for birthday freebies is sure to pull up numerous other goodies. Remember to check with local businesses that you frequent, such as your nail shop, bowling alley, and car wash, to see if they offer special deals on your birthday.

If you are a member of Swagbucks, expect to receive 50 extra bucks on your special day to help get you closer to your next reward.

So whether you are surrounded by family and friends who welcome the chance to celebrate your birthday or need a little help stretching your dollars, these birthday freebies will give you a free or discounted meal sure to help make your day a memorable one!
