∙ Desmond is on the bus, getting ready to leave for Fort Jackson. Just before the bus pulls away, he is on the right side when Dorothy approaches the window and gives him her Bible. It cuts to an interior view of the bus when he opens the Bible and he is seated on the left side.
∙ Sargent Howell visits the barracks and the soldiers are lined up on either side. When he orders everyone to go outside, a naked Private Zane (aka Hollywood) tries to grab his clothes but is ordered to go outside anyway. Sargent Howell orders him to “Move It!” and in the front view, Zane is shown covering himself with his right hand. It cuts to a rear view as he’s headed toward the door, and both hands are free as he’s running.
∙ Did you know…in the movie, Desmond meets Dorothy at Lynchburg Hospital where she’s working as a nurse. Actually, Dorothy didn’t become a nurse until after they were married and he had returned home from the war. Also, Desmond was portrayed in the movie as missing their wedding due to being imprisoned. “Hacksaw Ridge” (2016) was directed by Mel Gibson and stars Andrew Garfield, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths, Teresa Palmer, Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington Luke Pegler, Luke Bracey, Goran Kleut, and Milo Gibson. It runs 139 minutes and is rated R for intense prolonged realistically graphic sequences of war violence including grisly bloody images.
