Is Coffee the New Scent of the Day in Body Care

Is Coffee the New Scent of the Day in Body Care
Is Coffee as an aromatic ingredient becoming the scent of the day? Typically when you're not drinking coffee or using it as a body scrub, you're using it to clear your pallet to sample the next perfume.

Unique, exotic, desirable, comforting, warm and sweet, these are terms that are used to describe the smell for coffee. A lot of you wake up to its aroma on a daily basis. What if you could experience this same alertness in a more sensual way as a perfume?

Not everyone enjoys the aroma of coffee exuding off their body. As a perfume, it is not my favorite. However, when used as a body scrub, it provides beautiful soft skin, that my husband simply loves to touch.

Coffee and Cellulite

There's nothing like a body scrub with coffee grinds, shea butter and turbinado sugar. Here’s a recipe for you to try. This recipe was shared by For the Love of Body dot com.

Coffee Body Scrub

1/3 cup organic brown sugar ( I use turbinado sugar)

3 Tbsp coarse sea salt

2-3 Tbsp organic ground coffee

2 Tbsp castor oil
2 Tbsp shea butter

1/4 cup coconut oil

15 drops peppermint essential oil

10 drops vanilla essential oil

Soften coconut oil by emerging container in hot water.

Meanwhile stir sugar, salt and coffee together in a medium-sized bowl.
Add castor oil and stir.

Add shea butter and softened coconut oil and use a beater to mix together until combined and fluffy.
Stir in essential oils.
Transfer to containers. Wide-mouthed 250ml mason jars are quite cute, just remember hands get slippery when using it, so if you're a butter fingers like me, perhaps use something non-breakable!

How to Use Your Coffee Scrub

Some of you will apply while standing in the shower. Others will immerse yourselves in to a tub filled with very warm water. If you choose the tub method, You will exfoliate your skin before relaxing in the tub. Yes, you will be sitting in your coffee scrub for a short period of time. You will release the water when finished and do a final rinse to remove the coffee grinds.

As for the shower, apply gentle pressure to help exfoliate and increase circulation, letting up on sensitive areas like the tummy. Once you're scrubbed, turn on the shower and allow the water to remove the grainy bits, but leave the oils on your skin, don't soap them off. When you're done your shower, gently pat dry and allow the oils to moisturize and protect your skin.

That's it for this week.
