Mace Griffin : Bounty Hunter

Mace Griffin : Bounty Hunter
Mace Griffin - Bounty Hunter takes place in 2412, when humans have encountered aliens. Your job is to handle police duties in the outer reaches of the universe.

The graphics are definitely PS2-ey - while some scenes are very Halo-like, the graphics are definitely more blocky. You have shields and a selection of weapons as you wander through your world, fulfilling each mission.

You move in and out of spaceships, doing some part space flying, some part walking-and-fighting, with some RPG thrown in too. There are lots of little touches - the high pitched whine when you're flash-banged, the blood splatters on the floor, the details on the weapons.

There's a feel of Wing Commander in the flight scenes, but again it's just not quite there. The map is feeble and the controls are very minimal. When I fly the spaceship here I mostly wish Wing Commander had a new version out for the console market.

A few jumping puzzles make you feel like you're in a spaceland game of Super Mario, and a few other bugs mean that you really should save early, save often. But the game is certainly fun and has replayability opportunities. Definitely a good game to play while you're waiting for Halo 2 to be released!
