Out The Box-Tonex****

I was given a sample of Tonex's new project Out The Box recently and though it only has four songs on it, I am declaring this a must buy CD and DVD!! Opening up with the funked out rock song "God is Not Dead" and ending with the Kirk Franklin infused "Since Jesus Came In to My Life", it is clear to see that Anthony Williams aka Tonex threw a big praise party for Jesus on this project.

Recorded live in San Diego the double disc CD not only features Franklin but add Yolanda Adams and Shelia E to the mix and you know this will be a classic recording for all times! Explosive, electrifying, uplifting, supernatual and just straight up good are just a few of the words to describe this phenominal production. When it hits the stores rush to buy it!

Rain-New Direction**1/2

The third release of this talented choir developed by Percy Gray starts off with an the uplifting self-titled tune "New Direction". Basically the introduction song for the group. The next song "My Hands" is a power packed Sunday morning going to church song that everybody can relate to and enjoy. Now my favorite of this project is the beautiful ballad "I'm in Love With Jesus", with wonderful lyrics such as "Every time I think about you, Every time I read about you, Every time I hear your name I start to smile" one might think it could be referring to a lover. Make no mistake about it, this song deals with the beautiful and awesome love that only a personal relationship with Jesus can bring. Rain is a great project, while I wouldn't say rush out and buy it I would say it is very much worth a listen.

This release from newcomer Minister Earl Bynum is one full of talent, creativity and just plain-ole-good music. The much anticipated follow up to the 2000 debut release of Girl Director is in stores now and is a must buy for all SOP fans!

Filled with power-packed hip hop beats as well as deeply moving ballads this CD truly gives us a sample of the good life. With a guest rap from music mogual Rodney Jerkins the title song keeps up with the flava that is Natalie Wilson and SOP! I truly loved this CD and recommend it for all.
