It seems that I am still learning about the detailing process and business. When I first began detailing, I wanted to know everything I could about what makes certain products do what they do and of course how to make my car shine to its brightest shine. I read labels and found that while I was waxing most of the time and polishing in between waxes--or what I thought was polishing--was actually JUST detailing! I wasn't even close to what I NOW know. I want to let you know that polishing is what is done AFTER you wax. There is one specific product I tried that REALLY impressed the heck out of me! So I will share this with you--you will be amazed!

I tried Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Polish recently. This product is not a wax. It's a pure POLISH that conditions and nourishes the paint and is the SECRET to creating an awesome, deep, wet-look shine that is clear coat safe and isn't that the overall goal we want to achieve? The shine that I get from this stuff is GOLD!

I had a customer ask me to use the products she purchased. I am always happy to do whatever the customer wants for their vehicle so when she gave me this product--I'm ashamed to admit, I had never tried it before! She explained that she heard from someone that this product was awesome for peak shine and gloss. I knew this was going to be interesting and as I got started right away!

Now this car was neglected from washing. It just hadn't been waxed in over a year. I washed the car by hand with Meguiar's Car Wash and par-dried it with terry towels. Then I applied Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. I massaged the finish gently as I removed the Cleaner Wax. Then I applied Meguiar's Tech Wax--i love this stuff, it's like moisturizer for your car! I removed the Tech Wax and I thought, "now how could it BE better than this?" I then applied the Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Polish with a clean terry cloth in a left to right direction on the back panel of the car and when it dried, I wiped it off, I took a few steps back to compare the polished finish to the waxed finish and I could not believe it! There was such a clean, shiny, diamond-like shimmer--I was so impressed. Why hadn't I tried this product before?! I'm ashamed to admit it, but I thought that using detailing mists WAS POLISHING! Now I KNOW better--thanks to my friends and customers! Learning CAN be fun.

So you see, I am learning something new in this business every day! I totally trust Meguiar's products because of their Engineered Synthetic Polymers (ESP) to give me and my customers the longest lasting protection, not to mention the BEST shine possible!
