Great White Heron

Great White Heron
The Great White Heron Ardea herodias is a gorgeous, large white bird found in southern parts of Florida. It is actually a color variety, or "morph", of the Great Blue Heron.

The above Great White Heron was seen in the Everlades, in southern Florida. The ones below were seen in Key Largo.

The Great White Heron can grow to be 54" tall. The Herons have light legs, which distinguish them from the Great Egret.
