Dead Again Review

Dead Again Review
A turboprop plane carrying eight passengers and two pilots crashed on a mountain. Jack, one of the survivors, found the bodies of four of the passengers and one pilot. As he was looking for a way off the mountain he heard a voice and eventually found another survivor on a dangerous ledge part way down a ravine. The two managed to stay together for five days until they were rescued. Unfortunately, while Sophia Kingston survived Jack Laubreaux ultimately died of his extensive wounds.

Ten years later, Sophia was living in the small town of Serenity Falls in the rocky mountains of Montana. In the years since the accident she was married, had two children, and then divorced. She currently owned and operated a small café in town and financially was barely hanging on.

One day a drifter by the name of Martin Stride came into town looking for food and the possibility of a job. When he walked into the café, Sophia was sure it was Jack coming back from the dead. The town’s Chief of Police noticed how Sophia was drawn to the drifter and made sure he was driven out of town. The next day, Martin was back and invited to rent a room in Sophia’s large house.

What follows is a battle of wills between Martin and the sheriff and his cohorts. It is also a story about Sophia and Martin, why they are drawn to one another, and the real truth as to why he is hiding out in the small mountain town. Sophia’s decision to help Martin in any way she can places her at odds with the domineering sheriff.

Dead Again was written by Tracy Cooper-Posey, a prolific and popular author of over forty books written since 1999. The award-winning Cooper-Posey has written many types of romances including romantic suspense.

Dead Again is one of those novels that flows like a roaring river. Suspense fans will find it difficult to put down. The twists and turns keep readers engaged and looking forward to what happens next. Although readers find out who Martin really is early on, how he got there and why makes an engrossing read. The climax is an absolute mind-bender and the shocking conclusion is more than satisfying.

This is one of the best books I’ve read in quite a while. I literally could not put it down. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, I highly recommend Dead Again.

I downloaded this book when it was free on Kindle and am glad that I did. If you are interested in this book or any other stories by Cooper-Posey, they are available on Amazon.com.
