Legal Insurance

Legal Insurance
Some of you may ask what legal insurance is as you are unfamiliar with this terminology or type of insurance. Some of you might have heard of it but not have a full understanding of the benefits or the need to have this type of insurance. Let me explain legal insurance in simple terms of benefit and value.

Legal insurance is needed by individuals and businesses alike and the size of the business does not change the amount or degree of the need. Lawsuits are filed everyday against individuals and businesses some justified and others unjustified and require the assistance of legal advice and assistance to handle the various situation.

As individuals, we have everyday situations that arise from traffic tickets, traffic accidents, wills, consumer complaints, mortgages, contracts, IRS audits and more. These are all instances where having legal guidance or representation can be crucial to the ultimate outcome.

As a business owner, situations arising from employee complaints, customer complaints, unpaid bills for services rendered, unsatisfactory services received, inferior products and contracts are suituations that would be appropriate for legal advice or representation. Business owners also have the same situations that arise on the personal level as mentioned previously. Therefore, individuals and business owners both have the need for legal insurance or to use a more familiar term, legal protection.

Think of it this way. When you have a car accident and you have car insurance, you call your car insurance company - correct? When you have a legal issue, if you have legal insurance, you call your legal company which would be your law firm. I am sure that explanation helped you to see the purpose of legal insurance.

The benefit of your car insurance is that you pay a specified premium for a stated amount of coverage that should you need to use it provides coverage amounts over the amount of money you have paid in. The same is true of legal insurance, you pay a set premium and it insures that you have access to ongoing legal advice and representation per the provisions of your contract.
By having group plans such as car insurance and legal insurance you are able to get affordable rates for this protection. More and more companies are offering legal insurance to their employees as an optional benefit.
