Feeding Your Spirit...Be Confident

Feeding Your Spirit...Be Confident
There are times in our life when we feel as though we are fighting a losing battle. Each day seems to bring something new that tears at our foundation and our faith. Be encouraged, God is right there with you. We go through ups and downs. We experience highs and lows. We sometimes enter valleys that seem to go on forever. Yet, the fact remains that God is with us. He has never left us, and never will. We must remain confident in this.

Confidence is not subject to whether or not our life is going the way we desire. Confidence should be the mainstay in our walk in God. Confidence causes us to say yes when the flesh wants to say no, and I give up. Confidence should not be based upon our ability, but upon God and His word and the fact that God has never lied and will keep His promises.

Sometimes this is hard to see when we are hit with something one right after the other; an onslaught of continuous attacks, that we cannot even catch our breath. It is like being kicked while you are down and you see no way out. Yet, we know that the enemy does not fight fair. He will bombard us continuously when we are down and are facing difficult times. This is when we must dig in our heels, speak the word of God and be confident that God will see us through. This is when we must speak the word of God and be confident in the promises of God to deliver us.

Our confidence in the Lord is based upon our trust. Do you trust God today? Do you trust God to do what He says? Do you trust God to deliver you; to keep His word; to bring the promises to pass? Do you trust God to do just what He said? When you trust someone, you can have confidence that they are going to do just what they said. You have confidence in their ability to deliver on what they said.

Our confidence is also tied to our belief. To you believe what God has spoken to you? Do you believe that God has heard you? Do you believe that God will deliver you out of every trouble that comes your way?

Psalm 34:17-19 “17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and saveth such as are of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

God hears us. He hears us when we call. We have to believe that whatever God has spoken to us, that He will see it through completion. We must have confidence to run this race. Confidence to know that there is an expected end that God has designed just for us, that is for our good.

We have to exercise our faith daily by reading and meditating in the word of God. It is not enough to skim the word or just peruse it. We must study the word. By doing so, we gain confidence in what God has spoken to us. Confidence comes with knowledge and wisdom.

Be confident! Have confidence in God. Have confidence in yourself, and who God has called you to be. Have the confidence to do what needs to be done. Don't give up or back down to the enemy's threats. For, he has already lost! God said so, and Jesus proved it on the Cross! I am most certain that Jesus was confident that He was going to whoop the Devil's butt and defeat death when He came here! He was confident in His assignment and what He had to do. Was it easy? No. But He did it. And because He did, we can too!
