Dracula – Dead And Loving It

Dracula – Dead And Loving It
The tale of the undead Count takes a comedic spin in this Mel Brooks film. Count Dracula has his sights set on Mina Murray. It’ll be up to her beloved, Jonathan Harker, and the infamous Dr. Van Helsing to save her from becoming one of Dracula’s creatures of the night. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Dracula: Dead and Loving It”.

· Mina goes into Lucy’s bedroom the day after Count Dracula has bitten her (Lucy). When Mina opens the curtains, the close-up of Lucy shows her put her right hand to her forehead. It cuts to a side view when Mina sits down on the bed and Lucy’s hand is down by her side. It cuts back to the close-up and her right hand is at her forehead again and then she brings her hand down.

· When Dracula climbs down the wall and calls out to him, Renfield is laying in bed with a blanket wrapped around him as he starts to sit up. It cuts to a view from outside the bars when Renfield says “Master” and the covers are off and he’s already sitting up on the side of the bed.

· Jonathan sees Lucy at her crypt. There is a front view of him (left side/rear view of her) as she walks up to him. Her left hand is on his chest, at the lapel of his coat when he tells her he’s engaged to Mina. It cuts to a rear/right side view of Jonathan and Lucy’s left hand is on his shoulder when she says she’s not dead.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! When they have Dracula cornered, Dr. Seward tells Jonathan to duck when a beam is thrown at them. The close-up of Dr. Seward when he falls shows his left arm is on the ground at his side and his right arms falls across his chest. It cuts to a close-up of Dr. Van Helsing with Dr. Seward in the background and both of his arms are across his chest with the left one over the right.

“Dracula: Dead and Loving It” (1995) stars Leslie Nielsen, Peter ManNicol, Steven Weber, Amy Yasbeck, Mel Brooks, Harvey Korman and Lysette Anthony. It runs 88 minutes and is rated PG-13 for comedic sensuality and gore.
