Fragrance and Fashion

 Fragrance and Fashion
The greatest and biggest fashion houses create some of the most jaw dropping designs and alluring scents. Each design house creates unique stories that unwrap some of the most interesting and complex notes known to your nose.

For a design house, their fragrance helps evoke the essence of their desired looks but purely through scent.

Let's take a look at some Fashion Houses and their fabulous scents

Chanel - known for her impeccably designed jackets with weights in the hem so that they would hang evenly, Chanel is also known for her famous Chanel 5 perfume.

The most recent addition to the Chanel family is Coco Noir (Coco Black). The master perfumer behind the brand, Jacques Polge, returned to the Oriental fragrance with this blend. It's rich with notes of grapefruit, bergamot, Indonesian patchouli and sandalwood. A warm and seductive blend has been created.

Christian Dior Known for its haute couture collections dating back to the 1940's, the House of Dior bring Gris Montaigne to market as its new perfume intro.

The House of Dior has always believed gray to be one of the most convenient, elegant and useful of neutral colors. They've introduced Gris Montaigne to serve as their contemporary interpretation of the classic color. It's heavy with amber and builds its boldness with musk and patchouli.

Yves Saint Laurent One of my favorite designers when Yves Saint Laurent was designing the line and clothing was considered stylish and lady-like. I'm not quite sure what's coming down the runway these days.

But as for the perfume brand, the latest introduction is Manifesto. It's being described as multidimensional and playing with the feminine notes of Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Tonka beans, cedar and Sandalwood.

Manifesto is paying tribute to the feminine as Yves Saint Laurent did in couture. It's described as radiant and full of life, for the woman that's self assured with a true aura and knows how to use them.

Hermes is known for the infamous handbag made famous by Princess Grace. For its new fragrance Eau De Mandarine Ambree, it's a cologne not a perfume and made of mostly citrus notes.

This blend smells like fresh cut oranges with a touch of warm amber.

Donna Karan - I was introduced to Donna Karan when she designed for Anne Klein. She's always been known for her incredible relationship with luxury, whether in fabric or scent.

She's enhanced her first scent Cashmere Mist with what's being described as gold essence, thus producing Cashmere Mist Gold Essence Eau De Parfum Spray. It's Cashmere Mist with crisp citrus and watery green notes.

There's no time like the present

Venture out this weekend to your local department stores, sample some of the new introductions for the season and meet me in the forum and tell me what you think.

Fashion and fragrance, a great way to start making your list and checking it twice for the holiday season.
