Coriander and Garlic Marinade Recipe

Coriander and Garlic Marinade Recipe
If you just throw a steak or pork chop onto your grill, or tuck them into your oven, you can get a great, healthy dose of protein - but a flavor that you tire of after a while. By adding coriander and garlic into the mix, you not only are livening up the flavor quite a bit, but you are also adding in great nutrition!

1 pound pork chops or filet steak

4 cloves garlic
1 Tbsp ground coriander seeds
1/4 Tbsp ground black pepper
2 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce

Start by pounding the garlic flat. This usually works well with the side of a Chef's knife, but any flat metallic object will work well. Now mix in the coriander seeds and black pepper in a mortar until they form a paste. Stir in the soy sauce, blending well. Pour this over the steak or pork chop. Marinate for at least 2 hours. It tastes really great if you can let it set overnight.

Grill or roast your meat in your usual, favorite way, basting while you cook with the marinade.

Assuming your marinate 4 servings of meat, this is only about 1g of carbs per serving - and the health and flavor benefits are great!

CORIANDER

Did you know that the Chinese discovered coriander? They thought it held the secrets of immortality. The Romans loved it as well, and it spread to pretty much every culture. If you grow coriander in your garden, you can even use the leaves in salads and vegetable dishes.

GARLIC

I love garlic! Everyone should eat garlic daily, in one way or another. Garlic has been proven to help gain a healthy cholesterol level.

One study in Germany ran for 12 weeks - at the end of the run, those who had taken garlic daily had their cholesterol drop by 12%!

Garlic has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. In addition to the healthy effects on cholesterol, it's also been shown to help fight fungus - so it can even help with yeast infections!

Sulfur is found in Garlic, and is a critical nutrient that many people do not get enough of. So by making sure you get adequate amounts of garlic in your diet, you take care of getting enough sulfur, too. Sulfur is critical for Clearing your System of Mercury, for example.
