Don't you just love it when chrome shines?! Remember the days when Windex was all you needed to keep clean! Well, thank you to the folks at Meguiar's. Their NXT Gen-eration All Metal Polysh is what I recommend. If what you are using works--keep shinin'! Meguiar's NEW NXT Generation All Metal Polysh quickly and easily cleans and polishes all metal surfaces to the highest possible gloss. ESPs (Engineered Synthetic Polymers) leave behind a protective, synthetic barrier which provides an anti-corrosive benefit as well as overal metal protection from all environmental contaminants. Anti-corrosive agents fight against environmental attack and degradation. Cleans, polishes and protects all wheels, stainless steel exhausts as well as aluminum, brass, copper, silver, and all other bright-work metals. I tried this on a cutomer's aluminum wheels. The corrosion had begun to discolor the metal so I was doubtful her rims could be restored.

WHEN YOU ARE DOING ANY WORK ON ANY VEHICLE, ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE AND AREA(s) IS COOL! When trying a new product, always try a test area! I applied a small amount on the more corrosive area--this area had little chunks of corrosion so I let it dry completely. This process took about 10-15 mins. With another sponge, I wiped the area. Most of the corrosion came off so I figured another application was necessary--this time, it worked! You may find that neglected wheels and rims have stubborn stains, rust and corrosion so more than one (or two) applications may be necessary for complete restoration. I began the process of doing the wheels by first using a little more than I did on the test area. I applied the polish on ALL of the wheels--focusing on the trouble areas by applying pressure at times. This is not a job for the dainty!
Total drying time was in my experience one half hour. I first used a clean, dry sponge to remove the polish and then I used a soft terry towel to polish the rims. This stuff is awesome! I DID have to re-apply to the areas that were stained and then re-buff, but the result was nonetheless AMAZING! Again, I iterate, this is not a job for the dainty--this is a very dirty job! However, after seeing the results, it was certainly worth doing! ALways wear protective gloves and/or glasses and follow instructions on the package before using due to chemical reactions.
