Spiritual Intimacies-Maurice Greene

On this CD Mr. Greene starts things out with some of that "old school" funky mix with the song "Shout." With the great lyrics of "Slide Slide Slippy Slide" you can't help but feel the songs old-time Lakeside party groove, but make no mistake about it...this song is a dance song for Jesus. "Just forget about your troubles and your nine to five and just Praise the Lord" sings Greene. We all know what it's like to turn our problems over to God and when they are worked out, we can't help but "shout" and get our praise party on! This fact is well delivered on this song by Mr. Greene, in fact it's a running theme of the project itself. References to trusting God and learning to serve Him completely can be found on all the songs of this CD. That's what makes Spiritual Intimacies a total package! One of the standouts on the project is "You Make My Heart Sing" which opens with a beautiful string instrumental and moves into a feel good groove that flows so well with Mr. Greene's great vocals. This is a heart lifting song that gives you that "all is right with the world as long as I have the Lord" feeling. When he gets to the hook of "Na Nana Na Na Naa" you can't help but sing along with a big smile on your face. Finally the ballad "Broken Hearted" begins with a wonderful piano solo by Micah Whitley and spotlights the diversity and range of Mr. Green. This is a beautiful ballad about coming back to the Lord even when your heart has been broken. Talent to the fullest is Maurice Greene. This is a wonderful project from this talented artist. 7 Sons of Soul-7 Sons of Soul

Just plain old good music is what you get with this project! Starting out with the old standard "Amazing Grace" these guys get your soul stirring right away. Makes you wonder about their name. (Smile) Next they move into an old fashioned foot-tapping, hand clapping beat with "He's Coming Back" and they finish the project with the moving ballad "How Long" a plea for all to come to Christ. All the while in between the CD presents track after track of great songs. Look for the tune "Run On" which encourages us to reach for the destiny that God has for us all no matter what problems we face. Another outstanding song is "Need You" a contemporary jam that speaks of the need for God in our life. The piano solo on this joint by Davey Boy makes this a must listen. There is also "What is This?" featuring Fred Hammond and Pam Kenyon Davis that's worth an honorable mention. 7 Sons of Soul delivers a soulful project for all to enjoy.

Eternity-Harold Daniels

A true heart for God and a great voice is on full display with this project. The "old-school" flair is one that Mr. Daniels uses so well for most of the songs on the CD and you can't help but feel that you are listening to a quartet instead of just one man. On the tune "Gonna Have Church" the funky-beat rhythms makes you get your praise bounce on and you just know that even George Clinton himself would love this tune. Mr. Daniels voice flows with each track. On the title track he conveys with such conviction the true sacrifice that Jesus made for us in order to have "Eternity". This ballad really gives you that true feeling of appreciation for Jesus ultimate price. Mr. Daniels sings not only the lead on this song but also the background vocals as well, showcasing his full vocal range. Talented and spirit-filled is Mr. Daniels and he shows that completely on this CD. A great listen. To learn more about Harold Daniels log on to www.harolddanielsmusic.com

Something's Goin’ On In Here-Minister Kai Brown

Something is definitely going on with Minister Kai Brown and that is showcasing a wonderful voice for all to enjoy. Using a contemporary style Minister Brown delivers the message that no matter the struggles we Christians have, God will see us through. On the song "All Is Well" he encourages us to know with confidence that all is well with God in control. Of course with this man being a mouthpiece for the Lord, spoken word is an integral part of this project. Several songs feature Minister's Brown testimony as an introduction and on the opening song "All Night Long" a short sermon by a guest minister is featured.
On the ballad "Thank You" which gives God thanks for all that he has done in our lives, his voice is filled with passion and each note is one that touches the heart. You can check out Minister Kai Brown at www.kaibrown.com

For the King-Heirs of Promise

A fresh new sound is on the scene with this group! Opening with a feel-good vibe on "Hallelujah" which showcases the voice of Pat Boyd, this group steers you into a mellow flow right away. The jazzy sound is emphasized with the keyboard mastery of Colin Jackson. Mr. Jackson, the producer and musician of this project is one talented individual. You will learn more him about in the future because he has a project coming out soon. In the meantime back to the seven wonders of talent that make up Heirs of Promise. The group consists of Rebecca Rhome, Roderick Benson, Shawn Coleman and husband and wife teams, Athena Payne, Greg Payne, Patricia Boyd and Robert Boyd! The marvelous voices of each member are highlighted wonderfully as each one takes over the lead vocals on a particular song. Yes they all can not just sing...but as we “country folk’s say...they can "sang"! While all the songs are wonderful two of my favorites are "I Cry Holy” which features the lead vocals of Greg Payne and "Deeper Than Most" featuring the great falsetto of Robert Boyd. Both songs usher in the presence of God just by listening to them with the latter song placing emphasis on going deep in our relationship with God. Something we all should strive to do. If you want to learn more about this group, log on to www.cdbaby.com type in their name and check them out. I'm sure you will enjoy them just as I did.
