New Museums Editor!

New Museums Editor!
My name is Kim Kenney, and I am the new Museums Editor at BellaOnline!

I have a Master's degree in History Museum Studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program, and I have been a professional curator since 1999. I have published three local history books, and I have done many temporary exhibitions on topics ranging from chocolate to music to toys and everything in between!

I am looking forward to building this site as THE reference source for all things museum related -- great exhibitions to visit, antique information, cultural heritage tourism, and behind-the-scenes info you won't find anywhere else!

Learn how to care for your precious family heirlooms, how to go about donating objects to a museum, and where to find more information on planning your next museum visit.

Museums are not only a place to learn -- they are a place to have fun! As a museum professional, I am in the unique position of teaching history through the "real stuff" people made and used. I try to pick fun topics that are also educational, and my philosophy is always to educate people without them realizing it! That's one of the things that make a museum such a wonderful place to learn.

I plan to review interesting exhibits from all over the country, in both modern museum settings and historic house museums. I will also highlight each member of a museum staff and explain what they do.

If you are thinking of becoming a museum professional, there will be plenty of resources for you too, including a comprehensive list of graduate programs and JOB RESOURCES! Check out my series on "Museum Career Skills" to learn what you need to have in your skill set to be successful in this field.

Watch for special features that highlight a specific city and all of the historical attractions you can visit on your next vacation!

I'm excited to be taking over the management of this site! If you have any suggestions for things you'd like to see here, please contact me. If you are a museum studies student or another museum professional, consider submitting a guest article for this site!
