2013 - Star Trek - Into Darkness
The crew of the Enterprise returns from a mission only to be thrown headlong into the chaos created by the mysterious man who Kirk discovers to be Khan. But when Khan reveals his past experience with Starfleet and its commanders, Captain Kirk and the Enterprise crew learn that they’re in far greater peril than what they first realized. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Star Trek – Into Darkness”.

∙ Admiral Pike meets up with Jim at the bar after he loses his commission with the Enterprise. When Pike tells him they have the Enterprise to him, Kirk pours himself a drink (off camera) and tells him to “be careful of the First Officer”. It cuts to a left side view of Kirk when Pike says “Spock’s not going to be working with me”. The drink Kirk is holding is at least half full and covers most of the “ice sphere” in the glass. It cuts to a front view of Kirk when he starts to drink and the glass is almost empty. There’s only enough “liquor” in it to cover the bottom of the glass and most of the ice is visible.

∙ Kirk, Spock and Bones are on the transport on their way to the Enterprise. Jim sits in the front with a seat separating him and Spock. Bones sits behind them and is trying to take Kirk’s vitals. When Jim says “You’re welcome”, there’s a front view of him and Bones can be seen holding a scanner in his left hand and has a silver ring on his pinky finger. When Spock mentions the mission parameters, Kirk replies “Of course” and the left side view of him shows Bones’ left hand is still holding the scanner but the ring is no longer there. The ring is back in the net front view of Jim.

∙ CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! The Enterprise is caught in the Earth’s gravity pull. Spock enables his safety belt/harness and Sulu follows suit. Both of them have the black belts across their chests. But in the scene where Sulu says if they don’t get the power shields back on line, they’re going to be incinerated, he’s not wearing the belts. They’re back a few moments later when Spock gives the order for maximum thrusters.

“Star Trek – Into Darkness” (2013) stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quino, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anton Yelchin, Bruce Greenwood, Peter Weller and Alice Eve. It runs 132 minutes and is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence.
