A Host of Angels by Christel Weidmann

Christel Weidmann is a Master Tatter and Tatting Designer. This new book of angel patterns has challenges for the experienced tatter and basic tatting examples thoughtfully arranged for the new tatter. Repeating rings and chains, block chains and outlining chains form the construction blocks of the designs.

These 13 original angel designs may be created with shuttle tatting or with needle tatting. Some angels are shown in prayerful stance others are holding trumpets, bells, stars or hearts. There is even a "baby" angel included!


This is a paperbound 8.5" x 11" (22 x 27 cm) book in full color even the diagrams. Full written instructions accompany the clearly illustrated diagrams (see sample below) which have the double stitch count on each segment. The order in which the rings or chains are tatted is indicated on the diagram also, i.e., Ring A, B etc.

Although basic tatting instruction is not included, there is a list of the terms used in the book and color illustrations for the diagrams including rounds and joins.



Christel's is also the author of "Tatting Farm Animals" and "Tatting, 60 Original Lace Treasures."

Christel also has a series animal patterns called "Tiere der Welt" plus other designs for holiday decorations. Her series of pond and meadow wildlife, flowers and leaves are marvelous. And her 12 designs of the zodiac are masterpieces. She also has a book of techniques for advanced tatters, "Frivolite für Fortgeschrittene."
