Love your blender, but need to expand your repertoire of quick and healthy recipes to use it for? Tess Masters’ cookbook, The Perfect Blend: 100 Blender Recipes to Energize and Revitalize may be just what you’re looking for. Blender drinks for health are all the rage, and while the book has plenty of appetizing drinks and smoothies, there are also recipes for good and healthy soups, salads, appetizers, sides, and even mains, all made with the help of your blender.
While most of us tend to want recipes that are quick and easy with minimal ingredients, we make exceptions when guaranteed that the more time-consuming recipes will improve our health. There are some recipes in the cookbook that are quick and easy, but many take a bit more time and call for more ingredients than we are used to. Practice will help us save time, and the end results are good enough that it will be worth it.
The Mind-Blowing Moroccan Pizza was definitely worth the time, and the Thai Slaw is so good, it will be made over and over; everyone who tasted it swooned. The Sesame Soba salad was also delicious, as well as Tricked up Tabouli and Citrus Sunshine salads.
The book is organized into chapters for health benefits, such as Energy, Immunity, Detox, Weight Loss, and Anti-inflammatory to name a few. Some of the recipes call for uncommon ingredients, but they are readily available in larger grocery stores and health food stores. The recipes are also vegetarian and most are gluten-free and vegan.
If you are into the health craze, own a good blender, and want to eat healthier, this is an excellent book for you.
