New Members Elected to the GMA


At the annual membership meeting of the Gospel Music Association (GMA) held during GMA Week in April, seven new directors were elected to the GMA Board of Directors by the GMA membership and new Vice Presidents were named, announced John W. Styll, president of the GMA.

The newest directors of the GMA board will serve two-year terms, beginning with their first meeting in June. They are:

Larry Blackwell, Jr., vice president of gospel music for EMI Gospel, Karen Clark, manager of the Nashville Music Private Banking Division at SunTrust Bank, David Crace, a senior vice president of EMI CMG, Jim Cumbee, president of non-broadcast media for Salem Communications Tim Marshall, senior vice president of artist relations for Word Records, Dale Mathews, president of Brentwood-Benson Publishing , Don Moen, artist, songwriter, and worship leader, as well as Integrity Label Group President

Later, the Board of Directors elected four new vice presidents to join the board:

Demmette Guidry, vice president/general manager of Urban Records Group Music World/Sanctuary Urban Group Inc., Cheryl Moore, director of Christian retail marketing of Verity/Zomba, Luis R. Fernandez Jr., senior sales manager for Latin America for Integrity International Group, Nina Williams, vice president of label operations for Provident Label Group.

Founded in 1964, the 4,500-member Gospel Music Association is dedicated to exposing, promoting and celebrating the gospel through music. The GMA represents all styles of gospel music including contemporary pop, rock, urban gospel, praise & worship, Southern gospel, country and children¡¦s gospel music. The GMA produces the GMA Music Awards, which recognizes achievement in all genres of gospel music and are voted on by members of the GMA.
