Natural Ways to Clean Your Home
Many commercial cleaning products contain dangerous toxins. Just the smell of these toxic cleaners can be harmful to our family, pets, and environment. A great alternative to harsh cleaning product is grapefruit seed extract, hydrogen peroxide, and white vinegar.

Grapefruit Seed Extract:
Grapefruit seed extract is a safe non-toxic disinfectant and sanitizer. Use on all surfaces around the house there is no need to rinse off it does not leave toxin residue. Grapefruit seed extract is biodegradable and it is very economical to use in comparison to other cleaners. It is one of the safest ways to clean areas around pets, and birds without harmful chemical fumes. Hospitals also use grapefruit seed extract as a disinfectant and sanitizer.

All Purpose Cleaner:
15-drops Grapefruit Seed Extract
32-ounce Spay Bottle filled with water

Cleaning birdcage, and accessories:
1 Tablespoon of grapefruit seed extract
16-ounce water, soak or wipe with a cloth to clean cage.
Cleaning product can be very harmful to birds, grapefruit seed extract is safe.

Hydrogen peroxide:
Hydrogen peroxide is an oxidizer the same ingredient found in oxi-based cleaners. You can use hydrogen peroxide to clean anything in your house that is colorfast.

To clean the kitchen: Keep a spray bottle of 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide. Use to wipe off counter tops and appliances. It will disinfect and give the kitchen a clean smell.

You can also disinfect by spraying white vinegar, then 3% hydrogen peroxide. KEEP THE LIQUIDS IN SEPARATE SPRAY BOTTLES, and use them one at a time. It does not matter which one you use first. Spray areas with a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide wipe and follow with a spray of white vinegar then wipe clean.

Cleaning vegetables:
Fill your sink with cold water, then add ¼ cup (4 tablespoons=¼) 3% hydrogen peroxide. Wash vegetables thoroughly, rinse with cold water and drain.

Laundry:
Pour 8oz bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide into your whites instead of using bleach. See how white your clothes come out and H202 does not tear down the quality of material.

Houseplants will grow stronger and healthier by adding one or two tablespoon of peroxide to ½ gallon of water, then use mixture to water plants.

White Vinegar is perfect for various household cleaning tasks. Always use apple cider vinegar for personal care. White vinegar is best for cleaning and is gentle on hands, so there is no need to wear rubber gloves. Vinegar has a slight scent while wet, when dry it leaves no odor.

Extends life of cut flowers:
2-tablespoons of White Vinegar
2-tablespoons of sugar for each litter (quart) of water.

After cleaning the inside of your refrigerator or freezer, wipe the inside with white vinegar and allow to air dry. The vinegar will kill germs that encourage growth of mold and mildew.

Use vinegar full strength for tough jobs, bathtub, glass sliding doors, shower curtain, mildew, and toilet bowls. Those hard water stains will wipe in seconds. Spray with the ½ white vinegar and ½ water for countertops, refrigerator cleanup, and almost every kind of surface cleaning.

Window cleaner:
¼ c. white vinegar
1quart of water
Mix in spray bottle Spray on wipe clean.

Furniture polish can be made by mixing ½ cup olive oil with ¼ cup lemon juice. Apply mixture to furniture with a soft cloth and wipe it dry.

Baking Soda:
Baking soda works as a mild abrasive. Just like white vinegar, baking soda is a wonderful natural non-toxic cleaner with deodorizing properties.
All-purpose cleaner:
¼-cup baking soda
1-quart water
Or a mixture of white vinegar, salt, and warm water can also works well for most cleaning jobs.

Natural air freshener- Scent the air by boiling 2 ½ cups of water, then add 1 tablespoon cinnamon, vanilla, and a handful of apple peels.

We take extra care when it comes to our health by using natural remedies to help control many health conditions for example, Asthma. However, one commercial cleaning product can counteract all that precaution; one whiff can bring on an asthma attack. Bottom line, what we use to clean our home can have a great impact on our health as well as pets, and the environment.
