If you�re looking for a dynamic, critically-acclaimed, and multi-talented artist to help you celebrate the holiday season this year, look no further than singer-songwriter Shauna Burns. Making her way through the indie music scene, eclectic musician Shauna Burns is continuously going on a spiritually-driven musical adventure and her holiday song collection is relevant to precisely that.

After her breakthrough 2008 recording titled �The Moon and The Fire Circle,� as well as her 2009 �Anamnesis� EP, Burns is now inviting her current and upcoming fans to celebrate the holiday season with her via the power of songs. The album titled �A Winter Gathering� is a Celtic flavoured collection of newfangled carols and original, classic songs. Each of the songs are performed by both herself and her husband, drummer James Clark (who also co-produces the album), as well as guest performers Caroline Kemper (Celtic harp), Rick Kemper (Uilleann pipes and pennywhistles), Lindsey Springer (cello), Ryan Whyte Maloney (guitar and backing vocals), and a five-piece vocal choir.

Although Shauna Burns has an eclectic trademark style, she is compared to fellow singer/songwriters/musicians like Loreena McKennitt, Sarah McLachlan, and Tori Amos. To make herself stand out she is constantly bringing new elements and sounds to her style, and therefore is offering new twists to the classic songs like �Carol of the Bells,� �God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,� and �Silent Night.� She also includes a rendition of �White Christmas� (which she says is a tribute to her mother Joyce), and �What a Wonderful World.�

In the midst of the classic holiday songs, Shauna has added three short originals that she is calling �Songscapes.� Her first song, titled �Winter Star,� is about the star in the East that the shepherds see in �The First Noel.� It then goes on to blend with �Carol of the Bells,� �White Christmas,� and �O Come, O Come Emmanuel.� The second original song, titled �Luma,� was loosely based on �Ave Maria,� �Silent Night,� and �God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.� Lastly, the final songscape is called �The Gathering� and is dedicated to the gathering of songs, friends, and family during the holiday season, as well as the incorporation of �What a Wonderful World.�
