New Moon Card Game Review

New Moon Card Game Review
Wandering around the toy and game section of a department store, I happened upon a Twilight/New Moon card game. I bought it, played it, and then decided to make it a review.

The whole name on the tin is called: The Twilight Saga, New Moon the Movie card game. There are 88 New Moon Cards and 1 die in a playing deck sized tin.

You should see the movie, "New Moon" before playing the card game. As one friend found out, you can get some of the answers wrong if you don't see it first. The books are not always the same as the movie.

The object of the game is to be the first player to collect 8 New Moon cards. Each player needs paper a pen or pencil (not supplied). The paper and pen or pencil will be needed for the voting activities.

There are many ways in which people decide which player gos first in a game. This game has a different twist on that. The youngest player is supposed to start the game. Play does continue to the left as in most games.

Each player rolls a die to determine what their next move is. The player on their left picks up a New Moon card from the face down pile in the middle and reads a question. The question will either have a red or white dagger in front of it. If the dice rolled was an even number, then the
question will be from the white dagger portion. If the dice rolled was an odd number, then the red dagger question will be read.

If you answer your question or challenge and win, you hold on to that card. If you are unsuccessful, then the card gets discarded. Remember, the first person to collect 8 cards wins the game.

Now, on to the cards. Even if you get tired of playing the game, the cards themselves will always remind you of the movie and the scenes. Below is a sneak peek at some of the cards in the deck.

Remember the awkward movie scene with Jacob, Bella, and Mike? There is a wonderful card depicting the three of them at the movie. Watch the movie scene closely as one of the questions will be about imitating a famous actor doing a famous movie role.

For Laurent fans, there are some scenes on the cards with his picture, along with Alice and the Cullens. The Volturi are featured as well. If you think Bella and Jacob make a good pair, you will be rewarded with a few
pictures of them together. Never fear, fans of Edward and Bella; they have scene cards as well.

We did happen across a couple of cards that were not exactly alike in pictures or challenges, they were very similar. That did not stop the game nor did it make it boring.
