Card Game Gift Ideas

Card Game Gift Ideas
These card games can be found in toy stores, department stores, and possibly, your local bookstore.

UNO:
Almost everyone has played Uno at one time or another. It is like Crazy 8's in that you have to match a card on your hand with the card on the top of the wastepile. Watch out if you pick up too many cards. The player who only has one card left to lay down must shout, "Uno". The object of the game is to be the first to get rid of all your cards.

TRIVIAL PURSUIT:
Remember when Trivial Pursuit was the hottest game around? Now you can re-live that era and put your knowledge of trivia to the test. Beware, other players can steal your answer.

ROOK:
Perhaps your parents or grandparents remember this game. It usually has a crow-like bird on the cover. It is a trick taking game that consists of a blue bird card, which is the Rook. The other colors include red, yellow, black, and green. Some people play until a total of 300 points have been reached; while others play to a total of 500.

MONOPOLY:
Yes, the legendary game made it to a card deck. Players keep score on paper instead of with piles of paper play money. In this version, players draw and trade cards to come up with properties that have the same color band, just like in the board game. One twist; you need to have 10 cards in your hand when your turn ends.

SCRABBLE SLAM:
This card game uses just a four letter word to get the ball rolling. Players race each other (there are NO "turns") to place just one card on the top word to make it another word. Play continues from there until someone has used up all their cards. Be fast and quick before someone beats you to it and uses all their cards.

SORRY:
Another classic board game made it to the card decks. Players get 2 - 4 START cards. Cards are played until the value of 15 is reached, where players are able to make it HOME.

MILLE BORNES:
This game takes you on a car race. Mille means 1,000 and 1,000km is what you need to achieve and it usually takes several hands. There are hazard cards such as accidents, out of gas, and flat tires to watch out for. But, rest assured, there are also safety, remedy, and distance cards to help you along your route.

CRIBBAGE, EUCHRE, PINOCHLE, SPADES, HEARTS:
These card games have found their way to the stores. Bookstores are especially fond of having these sets for sale. The cards come with easy to understand directions that will help you play these classic games. If you are looking for practice, learning new games or collecting card games, these sets will not let you down.
