Financial Relief Book Review

Financial Relief Book Review
In a perfect world, we would all make enough money to cover our expenses, tithe ten percent, give offerings, save at least ten percent, take vacations, spend a little and put money away for our children’s education and our retirement. It is not a perfect world, and a greater percentage of people are living paycheck to paycheck making themselves a paycheck away from homelessness. Sometimes a person’s financial situation is due to bad choices and an abuse of credit; other times a person might be financially unstable due to family size, cost of expenses, and the lack of a sustainable income. Many struggling single parent families find themselves in an uncomfortable financial situation due to the sudden loss of the income the other parent brought earned.

I know how to budget. I have prepared budgets for hundreds of clients, and managed accounts for outreach. There are times; however, when even I find my finances out of control. So, although I have the skills and knowledge to handle money, even I slip up. What, then, of people who lack the knowledge…..who “just do not know where to begin” ? What about single parents who are stressed and just need a little direction?

With a foreword by Dave Ramsey, Financial Relief for Single Parents: A Proven Plan for Achieving the Seemingly Impossible by Brenda Armstrong provides valuable information and resources pertaining to managing day-to-day expenses, reducing debt, investing, and several other financial-related topics. While the advice contained in the book is very basic, sometimes, that is all that is required to point a person in the right direction. Obviously, as the title suggests, the book is geared toward single parents; however, the information contained within will benefit new grads, young families, and most other people.

Financial Relief is available from online retailers such as www.amazon.com.
