The 23rd Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will be held at Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on January 12, 2008. The co-hosts for the 2008 awards show are Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans and Byron Cage. The co-hosts for the 2008 awards show are Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans and Byron Cage.

This year's list of nominees included traditional as well as contemporary, urban, rap, hip-hop and jazz artists. J. Moss, dominated the list of nominees by picking up seven nominations, including Music Video of the Year, Contemporary CD of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year to name a few.

His cousins the Clark Sisters, followed close behind with six nods, including Group/Duo of the Year and CD of the Year.

A tight race in categories such as CD of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year and Artist of the Year, will feature R&B powerhouse Kelly Price and Stellar Award veterans Vickie Winans and Tramaine Hawkins who all have five nominations each. Newcomer Dewayne Woods is also up for five nominations for his project in several categories including New Artist of the Year.

Beloved Stellar Award favorite, Fred Hammond picked up nominations in four categories.

Other nominations include Smokie Norful, Yolanda Adams, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Shirley Murdock, and the Mighty Clouds of Joy.
